Age 76, of Watkins Glen, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. There are no prior visiting hours. Following services will be a burial at Union Cemetery of Hector with military honors. Robert was born in Candor, NY on August 26, 1937, the son of William and Hazel Ames. After school he served in the US Airforce. Bob worked as a Plant Operator until his retirement at Suit-Kote in Watkins Glen. He was predeceased by his parents, also a brother, William Ames. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn and her husband Jess Esposito of Ithaca; brothers, Edward Ames of Watkins Glen and Daniel and wife Marie Ames of Verona, NY; sister, Ann and husband Richard Bradley of Rock Stream; sister-in-law, Ann Louise Ames of Watkins Glen; two grandsons, Jess and Craig Esposito; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Seneca View SNF at Schuyler Hospital, 220 Steuben St., Montour Falls, NY 14865.
