Robert B. Barber, Sr.
Age 84, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Bob was the oldest of five boys, born to Rex and Mildred (Tinklepaugh) Barber of Forest Lake, PA. He is survived by his wife, Nina (Barrett) Barber; daughter, Doris Harrington (Ronald Bullivant); son-in-law, Ernest Easling; four grandchildren, Michele Stone (Hector Lopez), Marie (Scott) Bowers, Devin Barber, and Susan Bullivant; six great-grandchildren, Trentin and Boyd Barber, Thea and Wynnie Bowers, Esteban Lopez, and Kearstin Masson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Robert B. Barber Jr.; daughter Ann Easling; and his four brothers, Ernest, Paul, Harold, and Melvin Barber.
Bob was the owner for over fifty years of Barber’s Excavating and Trucking, Barber’s Garage, Barber’s Disposal, Barber’s Ice, and the Sinclair Gas Station. He was a charter and lifetime member of the Millport Hunting Club and former member of the Montour Moose Club. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Thursday, March 14, from 4pm-6pm; followed by a funeral service at 6:00pm.
