Robert Cooper, Jr.
Age 77, of Trumansburg, NY, passed away Sept. 9, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; four children, Kenneth C. Colburn II (Belinda), Carlea Cooper Fernandes, Schaun Lupo (Carl Sr.), and Venesia Green (Scott); 7 brothers and sisters, Charles (Pat) Cooper of CA, Marvin (Eileen) Cooper of NY, Ralph (Bonnie) Cooper of NY, Roberta, Diana (Dave), Beth, and Justine; 13 grandchildren, Tyler Fernandes (Cassy), Samantha Fernandes (Cody), Breann Fernandes (Jake), Jennifer Cooper (Chad), Ralph Lupo (Emily), Carl Lupo Jr., Doug Lupo, Alex Colburn (Hannah), Brandon Green, (Lauri, Kayli Green (John), Jordan Colburn, Sean Colburn, and Hunter Colburn; and 9 great-grandchildren, Jason, Isabella, Irvin, and Christopher Ellis, and Isaac Lupo, Michael Blake, and Paytynne, Carter, and Mason Green.
Bob was born July 14, 1942 in Romulus, NY, the son of Robert Cooper Sr. and Bertha. He was a member and elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Trumansburg, and warmly remembered by many as a mentor and friend. As an avid year-round hunter, his love for the outdoors started as a Rancher and with the Rodeo in Santa Maria, California. He later pursued Dairy Farming and raising game fowl in New York. He was also known as a skilled contractor. His love of animals, including with horses, continued with his pursuit of co-founding, with his brother-in-law Lee Newhart, Jr., the National Majestic Tree Hound dog breed and the National Majestic Tree Hound Association.
A memorial service will be held Saturday (Sept. 14) at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 319 Pennsylvania Ave, Trumansburg, NY; followed by a reception.
