Robert "Bob" Michalski, born on July 10, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, departed this life on January 12, 2025, in Sayre, PA. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and remarkable achievements that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Bob’s career was marked by notable accomplishments, including his work on Ronald Reagan's 1980 Inaugural Parade and serving as the president of the Washington D.C. Jaycees. As a Product Manager for MCI's "friends and family," he played a significant role in shaping communications as we know it today. Bob's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he founded Access Marketing Inc., a marketing research company that demonstrated his keen insights and expertise.
A proud graduate of Sylvania High School, Bob attended Bowling Green University on a debate scholarship, where his passion for debate flourished, paving the way for his future endeavors, such as coaching high school debate teams. His sharp intellect was matched only by his storytelling prowess; friends and family often found themselves enchanted by his tales of sailing across the Atlantic and reminiscing about his spirited college debate tournaments.
Bob's warmth and humor made him a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He cherished his wife, Deb Michalski, and the love they nurtured was evident in everything they did together. His step-daughter, Brittany Bagley, and son-in-law, Kenny Burchell, were always in his thoughts, alongside his treasured grandchildren, Oliver and Maeve, who brought him immense joy. His best friend, Tim Tierney, was a constant companion, sharing in the laughter and memories they created.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob found joy in simple pleasures, such as going to auctions and estate sales, where he would often unearth hidden treasures. He had a knack for refinishing furniture, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary, much like how he transformed the lives of those around him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Melvin and Bernice Michalski, whose love and guidance shaped the remarkable man he became. The void left by his passing will be profoundly felt, yet the stories, memories, and legacy he built will resonate through time.
In remembering Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of kindness, and a soul that brought light to every room. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to share in his journey.
