Roberta (Bobbie) Richardson Olcott, 80, went to heaven on Sept. 8, 2013, with her beloved son Paul at her side. She was reunited with her husband of 58 years, the Rev. James Olcott, who predeceased her in 2011. Bobbie was a favorite teacher at Watkins Glen Elementary School, from which she retired. She was active in the Teacher’s union, at one point serving as their local President and, along with her husband Paul, enjoyed teaching adult education and high school equivalency for many years. In her later years she pursued reading, painting, drawing and became an enthusiastic member of Centre Stage Community Theatre. She loved being a pastor’s wife, a teacher, and a devoted and fun mother and grandmother. And her family loved and adored her abundantly in return. She is survived by her three sons: John Thomas of Montour Falls, Paul James (Dresden) of Rochester, and Robert Grant (Jamie) of Horseheads; four granddaughters; Sarah, Samantha, Aria, and Aurora; three sisters: Anita (Bart) Gould of Waterloo, Suzanne (James) Noto of Cazenovia, and Jodie (Steven) Smith of Houston, Texas; and many more loving relatives and friends. There will be no prior calling hours. A service to celebrate her life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Horseheads Methodist Church, 1034 West Broad St., Horseheads. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centre Stage Community Theater, PO Box 985, Corning, NY 14830 (checks made out to Centre Stage Community Theatre or CSCT). You may sign a guestbook or express condolences to the family online at www.Royce-Chedzoy.com. Arrangements by Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.
