Rowan Lindsay Manning Schockner
Age 63, of Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving husband and daughters on January 30, 2020.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St. Watkins Glen on Saturday (Feb. 8th) from 2pm-4pm; followed by a memorial service celebrating her life at 4:00pm.
Rowan was born in New Zealand, and lived in Australia, England, Germany and the United States. She and Richard celebrated their 39th year of marriage on January 24, 2020.
She is survived by her loving family, including her husband Richard; daughter Emma Schockner (husband Jeremy Personius) and grandson Henric Personius of Montour Falls, daughter, Hannah Stokes (husband David Stokes) of Geneva; sister, Elizabeth Story of Australia; brothers-in-law, Timothy Jaques, Michael Kear and William Schockner (wife Leslie Darman); sister-in-law, Linda Vera-Schockner (husband Evaristo Vera); She was also predeceased by her sisters, Catherine Jaques and Francis Kear.
Rowan was a volunteer with the Schuyler County Humane Society, Rabies Clinics and served as a Board Member for the Geneva Council on Alcoholism. She enjoyed reading books with a glass of wine in hand and a kitty on her lap. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at the House of John in Clifton Springs for their loving palliative care given to Rowan in her final days.
