Paige, Rudolph “Rudy”
Rudolph “Rudy” M. Paige, 82, of Grove City, Ohio, passed on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at StoryPoint Nursing Facility, Grove City, Ohio.
Rudy was born in Montour Falls, NY on December 21, 1938, the son of the late Jacob E. Paige and Violet (Maki) Paige.
Rudy grew up in Mecklenburg, NY on a farm with his brothers, Harvey and Richard, where ethics and hard work was instilled in their everyday living. After graduating he worked at Morse Chain, Ithaca, NY. On June 24, 1960 he eloped with his wife, of 61 years, Wilma J. Jenkins Paige. Rudy joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1962-1966; moving to Ohio, where they have resided to the present time. He worked as a glass glazier for many years. Rudy and his wife, Wilma, had a love for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, they belonged to a group called “The Farrow Harley Owners Group” of Columbus, Ohio. They regularly went on “Breakfast Rides” with the group; they traveled thousands of miles together. Rudy will be remembered for being the quiet, reserved one with an infectious smile.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Wilma Jenkins Paige; two brothers, Harvey (Ruth) of Ohio, and Richard of Mecklenburg, NY; nephew, Gene Paige; niece, Eva Paige Thornber and one great niece, Brooke Violet Paige as well as sister-in-law’s, Kay Jenkins Kannegiser and Mary Jenkins Hubbell and many nieces and nephews from his wife’s side of the family. Predeceased by sister-in-law, Nancy Adams.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 pm with funeral to follow at 2:00 pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Seneca Santa, Inc., P.O. Box 22, Watkins Glen, NY 14891 or to a charity of one’s choice.
