Ruth M. Dilts

Age 90, of Montour Falls, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, Montour Falls, NY.


She is survived by her son John R. Dilts, Sr. (Bonnie), of Montour Falls; six grandchildren, Patsy Cox, of Arkansas, Tracy (Don) Neumire, of Montour Falls, Alison (Jeff) Gierlach, of Vestal, NY, John R. Dilts, Jr. (Lisa) of Endicott, NY, Karen Graves, of Indiana, PA, Matthew Graves, of Andover, NY; son-in-law, Karl Graves, of Andover, NY; nine great-grandchildren, Terence and Kenneth Cox, William, Linday and Michael Neumire, Michelle and Peter Gierlach, Stephen and Lydia Dilts; and several nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, son Kenneth, daughter Nancy, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.


Originally from Rockland County, NY; the daughter of George and Ina (Jersey) Smith, she eventually moved to this area after retiring from their family owned nursery and landscaping business, Summit Park Nursery, in Spring valley, NY. Ruth and her husband Ken moved to Greenwood, NY in 1972, later to Andover, NY and finally to Montour Falls, NY.


Ruth had a lifetime love of gardening and was known for raising her beautiful African Violets. She taught Sunday School for many years and enjoyed all of her grandchildren.


Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, in Greenwood, NY.
