Stella A. Andrews, age 70, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on November 1, 1943 in Montour Falls, NY, the daughter of John and Anna (Lagoski) Stanko. She moved from the Sugar Hill area in Watkins Glen, NY and became a resident of Scott City, Kansas in 1996. She was a mental health nurses’ aide before becoming a CNA and CMA. Stella was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas and formerly St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen. She is survived by her three children, daughter Christina A. and Donald Duvall of Scott City, KS, Clayton C. Groves II of Watkins Glen, and William J. and Melissa L. Groves of Leoti, KS; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; John, Frank, Mike, and Stanley; and three sisters; Mary, Elizabeth, and Frances. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, June 21st, 2014 from 10:00am-11:00am at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home, followed by a committal service and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watkins Glen.
