Age 73, of Burdett, NY, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013.Stewart was a lifelong resident of Burdett.He honorably served in the US Army and was a 55 year volunteer with the Burdett Fire Department.He was also a lifelong member of the Burdett Methodist Church.Stewart worked for the NYS DOT in Watkins Glen until retirement. Stewart is survived by his loving partner and fiancée of 24 years, Faith Shettleworth; the only son he ever had, Justin Shettleworth; sisters, Judy (Clarence) Mollet, and Pauline Waller, both of Wabash, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Beulah Clawson; brothers, Horace and John Clawson, and sister, Georgetta Clawson.The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4thSt., Watkins Glen, on Monday, May 6, from 12 noon-2:00pm; followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm.A burial with military honors will be held at the Union Cemetery of Hector.
