Virginia “Ginger” Beebe
Age 82, formerly of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on December 20, 2020 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse due to complications from Covid-19.
Ginger was predeceased by her loving husband Guy earlier this year, after 56 years of marriage. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Stacy) Beebe of Huntington Beach, CA, Christopher (Laura) Beebe of Mission Viejo, CA; daughters, Frances (Lindsey) Rodhouse of Hoschton, GA, and Tonya (Jeffrey) Coulter of Memphis, NY; eight grandchildren; brothers, Jesse (Jo) Pully, and David (Olinda) Pully; sisters-in-law, Connie, Gladys, Harlene, and Marian.
Born in Lancaster, PA in 1938, Ginger graduated from Odessa-Montour Central School, then went on to earn her degree in Ceramics Engineering from Alfred University. She was a Coordinator for Literacy Volunteers of America and, prior to that, a teaching assistant at OMCS.
Ginger was a longtime member of the choir at St. Mary’s of the Lake in Watkins Glen and a member of Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered in the community as a 4-H leader, driver for Meals on Wheels and member of the Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary. In her younger years, Ginger was a competitive bowler. She also enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, gardening and scrapbooking. But most of all, she loved traveling across the country to visit her grandchildren.
A private burial will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa, NY. A celebration of Ginger’s life will take place at a later date for family and friends.
