Jacqueline Zavala
Age 34, of Ithaca, NY, formerly of Burdett, our sweet Jacqueline passed on to be with her Lord
on Friday, October 28, 2022 at home.
She lived courageously and joyously despite living with chronic pain and her diagnosis of Synovial Sarcoma. Jacqueline was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who deeply loved her children Jayleen and Jason. She worked at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca.
She was predeceased by her father, Jose Zavala; and grandparents, Bernard Faraino, Gisela Melchior, Graciano Zavala. She is survived by her daughter Jayleen A. Zavala; son Jason L. Rogers-Zavala; mother Marion Zavala; grandmother Ramonita Zavala; brother Angelo (Amy) Zavala; and sisters, Monique (Shane) Frankovic and Chantalle Zavala.
Jacqueline always met others with a smile, a warm embrace, and hopeful words. She was generous with her heart and comforted others even when she was enduring difficulties.
Family was of utmost importance to her. In the past year, Jacqueline had shared many happy moments with her family. Jacqueline had been helping her daughter practice for her driver's license and beaming with pride watching her at cheerleading. She was uplifted watching her son, Jason's excitement when at his Kung Fu class and cheering him on. In spite of the pain and heartbreak she felt due to her illness.
The family will receive friends at the Glen Baptist Church, 3311 Reading Rd., Watkins Glen, from 10am-12pm; on Saturday (Nov. 5) followed by a funeral service at 12pm at the church; burial following at East Lawn Cemetery in Ithaca. A Celebration of Life will be held next year in her memory, and will be announced by her family.
